TEKNOLOGJIA E NUMËRIZIMIT NË ARKIVIN QENDROR SHTETËROR
DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY IN THE CENTRAL NATIONAL ARCHIVE

Summary/Abstract: Digitization is the basic element for the modernization of the Albanian Archives to store and use information. For this reason, an computerization group has been set up consisting of informatics specialists and experienced archivists, who faced this contemporary process, thus creating the basis of a broad informatics against the needs of the Albanian Archival Network. They faced the trials of both the past and the modern world as well as the difficulties of digitization for the storage of valuable data, to be as accessible as possible to the public, to protect the privacy and to trust and secure information. The main objective of this topic is: Numbering technology in the Central State Archive, - the basic element for modernization and openness to the public of information storage, which today is conceived as a tool that breaks the framework of archives as institutions in themselves. The following sub-issues are an explanatory part of my paper from the point of view of the project "Modernization of the Archives of Albania": a) Vocabulary of terms, creation and use of a common metalanguage in electronic archiving; b) The issue of numbering technology and its extension to archives; c) How archivists faced the difficulties of numbering?; d) Consolidation of the achievements of the Albanian archival community, in the execution of the project with the participation of the Swiss Federal Archives.
