Summary/Abstract: Capitalizing works and linguists from the past is a major task of linguistics. With reference to the history of Romanian linguistics, besides Romanian linguists, we shouldalso mention many foreign linguists who, with their contributions and activity, haveclarified and disseminated the issues of Romanian language. In this paper we shall dealwith Tiktin’s contribution to Romanian lexicography with the publication of the three volumes in his Rumänisch-Deutsches Wörterbuch (1895-1925), as seen from the perspective of the meticulous review by Alexandru Philippide.
