Summary/Abstract: The variety and prevalence of physical activity (PA) opportunities children can participate in and out of school, inclusivity by e.g. gender, socioeconomic status, disability; relevant regulations and approaches in field and literature are some indicators for developmental areas. This qualitative research, using content analysis, aims to describe children's PA opportunities, ways and levels of their participation, and relevant development areas in Iran today. The existing legal frameworks, centers for low-income groups in urban areas, some state institutions opening summer schools, positive reflections through increase in field knowledge due to sports sciences are noteworthy. Moreover, in the light of the findings, many areas and subjects that can be worked on are discussed such as making relevant cross-sectoral systematic discussions in Iran; an interdisciplinary contextual and space evaluations regarding PA such as physical education, sports, recreation and play; developing the content and number of the adapted PA programs.
