Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to analyse and interpret Jacek Komuda’s Samozwaniec. Moskiewska ladacznica [The Usurper. Moscow Slut]. It refers to Henryk Sienkiewicz’s works and literary criticism offered by the Sztuka i Naród [Art and Nation] journal published during World War Two. The article presents the ideological message conveyed by this historical novel and reconstructs its philosophical position. It raises issues that have not been analyzed so far in the discussion on the work of Jacek Komuda.
