Summary/Abstract: The article constitutes an analysis of the title pages of Cracow polemical prints published in the years 1560–1600. For this purpose, 25 polemical prints were selected from the Cracow printing houses. The study was based on electronic versions of polemical books in the libraries’ digital resources. The analysis covered the individual elements on the title pages, i.e. title, author, quote, graphic elements and publisher’s address. The article focuses on indicating the distinctive features of title pages of the polemics from the end of this century. The main aim of the paper is to answer the question whether it is possible to talk about the birth of genre convention at the end of the 16th century.
