Summary/Abstract: In the article, on a broad basis of historical sources, an attempt is made to reconstruct the working conditions, working day, daily practices and social life of the employees of the People’s Commissariat of Finance of the BSSR in the critical period for society in the late 1920s and early 1930s. The implementation of such measures in the People’s Commissariat as the promotion of workers to the positions of civil servants, the implementation of Belarusization, and the introduction of a continuous working week are considered using specific examples. The role of the local committee of the trade union organization in solving everyday problems of employees is revealed. Much attention is paid to labor discipline and the organization of working conditions, the level of wages and deductions from it, issues of commodity supply and the formation of the card system.
