Summary/Abstract: The subject of this research is the representation of women from Macedonia in the works of art made by the foreign painters, illustrators, graphic artists, sculptors and art photographers who visited Macedonia and created works inspired by the land, culture, tradition, nature and historical events in the period between 1850 and 1950, with depictions of rural scenes with authentic occupations, landscapes and war scenes, but also a depiction of urban environments. The analysis of works of art goes in the direction of sublimating the way of depicting women from Macedonia from the aspect of how they were perceived by the author painters, and what can be resulted as a conclusion regarding the standard of living of the woman and her status in the social occasions of the time. The analysis is based on several bases: geographical scope, ethnicity of the people depicted in the images, origin and affiliation of the authors by country, number of male and female authors by country, chronological division of the works, method of depiction of woman in action, and frequency of representing of the woman, regarding other themes.
