Terrorism or Anti-terrorism Security? In Searching for the Truth About Concepts

Summary/Abstract: Contemporary terrorism is a real threat to security in the national, re-gional and global dimensions. Poland also identifies terrorism as a phenomenon thatmust be prevented and combated. There is an anti-terrorism system in Poland, and adedicated act has been implemented in this area. The aim of the article is to initiatea discussion and to propose initial solutions in connection with the functioning of anumber of unspecified basic concepts in the area of terrorism in the Polish law and thedoctrine of security sciences. The initial situation in this case is not very clear. Thereare many definitions and concepts that are not fully explained, and some of them areused contrary to the rules of language. The authors of the text analyse, inter alia, theconcepts of anti- and counter-terrorist activities and anti-terrorist security. Scientificconsiderations are based on a review of the literature, legal acts and the opinions ofscientific experts. All the collected material and conclusions constitute the startingpoint for further deliberations as part of the scientific discourse
