Summary/Abstract: Historically, social work developed itself over the centuries, undergoes various metamorphoses and enriched itself by the values of culture, religious views and philosophical currents through the ages. An interesting influence and contribution to the current dimension of social work has the African humanism with its concept of ubuntu. The article observe the various dimension of the ubuntu philosophy and it roots in the social work practice.
