INTEGRATION OF THE ARTISTIC ACTIVITY OF PAINTER ION ISAC INTO THE HISTORICAL AND ARTISTIC VALUES OF BANAT COUNTY

Summary/Abstract: The objective of this research is to highlight the cultural space of Banat, and the integration of the artistic activity of the painter Ion Isac in the overall historical and artistic values of Banat and, perhaps, the extrapolation at the national level. The image of the artistic manifestations of the period is mainly provided by the Hungarian or German editorial press. The Romanian press of the 1920s was reduced to simple reports of exhibitions or comments on the atmosphere. In Ion Isac's creation, the political events of the period appear through symbols. His reality was both European and local, traditional, Romanian, from the images projecting the rural environment in which he was born, to the urban realities of the period, where he encountered numerous difficulties. He chose to illustrate a casual atmosphere of the Banat Mountains with which he was so familiar, fragments of national history, parts of our cultural heritage.
