Gender aspects of labor and employment in Nizhni Novgorod region

Summary/Abstract: Broad statistic material is used to describ the interdependence of demographic devel-opment of Nizhni Novgorod region, formation of human resources and labor market on its territory as significant components of social and economic development of the region. The gender aspect of the abovementioned situation is presented in the article. The materials of population census of 1989 and 2002, selective observation of region’s population concerning the problem of employment (February—November 2007), current record of population, sta-tistic reports by Department of state placement service of Nizhni Novgorod region popula-tion and other statistic materials are used in the article.
