Pentecostarion Hymns in the Manuscript K-79

Summary/Abstract: The Georgian manuscripts of "Lenten Triodion" together with linguistic monuments are important historical sources. Manuscripts created in different periods testify to a number of historical facts. The aim of the study is to present the Pentecostarion hymns included in the K 79 manuscript preserved in the Kutaisi State Historical Museum from the editorial and structural point of view, as new, Hellenophile, translations of specific hymns were created in order to bring them closer to the Byzantine liturgical tradition. Gelati Theological and Literary School founded by Davit Agmashenebeli played a special role in this process. K 79 manuscript created in the 15th-16th centuries, testifies to how this process took place and which editions of hymns were preferred in the late Middle Ages. In some Georgian manuscripts of Lenten Tridion is preserved the hymns of Pentecostarion, specifically, of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In this point of view, the K 79 manuscript, which has not been studied and published so far, is no exception. A part of the paschal service was revealed in the manuscript, which is very interesting from the textual point of view. In addition to the mattins canon of pascha, Ypakon, Kontakion, Ikos and Exapostilarion are confirmed. The question of the additional affiliation of these hymns is important in determining the relation of the K 79 manuscript to the parallel texts. The Paschal canon is especially interesting. Until now, the version according to the Par.5 manuscript - two troparia were added to each ode, which, from the content point of view, are dedicated to the Holy Mother of God, was considered to be an extensive variant of the canon. Troparia dedicated to the Mother of God are also preserved in manuscript K 79 and, most importantly, are given separately, after the Paschal Canon. An extensive variant of the canon of resurrection is confirmed in the Sin.5 manuscript. Troparia dedicated to the Most Holy Trinity and the Mother of God are added to each hymn. To complete the conclusions, it is important to compare Georgian versions with ancient Greek sources. For this purpose, the material discussed by us is compared with the ancient Greek manuscript dated XI century (Vat. 771), which is a novelty in the Georgian scientific space.
