Summary/Abstract: Professor Dr, Fikret Karčić is one of the rare scholars who, during his academic endeavours, in the period of over forty years, not only made heavy use of its collection but also made a remarkable contribution to the development and affirmation of the library. On many occasions, he spoke of the library, especially of its significance in the studies of Islamic cultural heritage, but also about its status, and development. The author here illustrates the efforts and achievements of Professor Dr. Karčić in regard to Gazi Husrev-bey’s Library in Sarajevo.
