About the history of typography in Bistritz (1813-1949)

Summary/Abstract: Outlines the histrory of typography in the northern Transylvanian town of Bistritz (Bistriţa) from the beginning of the 19th century, when Johann Filtsch founded his typography, until the nationalization after the Second World War. The first romanian typography was established by Ioan Baciu, a priest from nearby Burgau (Bârgău, Borgo) in the first half of the year 1900. The appendix contains a chronological list of all printers and publishers in Bistritz.
