Summary/Abstract: The goal of this article is a brief analytical description of militant democracy in Israel with emphasis on recently adopted legislation. This legislation was approved in response to the detention of the far-right neo-Nazi groups known as Patrol 36. The intention of this article is inclusion of group Patrol 36 to the development of the concept of militant democracy in Israel. The first part of this article describes the group Patrol 36, which has arroused a tremendous attention in Israel because it was a neo-Nazi group. In the second part, the theoretical framework of the concept of militant democracy is presented. The third section describes the nature of Israel democracy with emphasis on its specifics. The next part describes a brief history of militant democracy in Israel. The last part deals with legislative measures adopted by lawmakers in the Knesset after what police have arrested members of Patrol 36.
