Summary/Abstract: Thousands of volumes, studies and articles on 1848-49 have been written over the past 175 years. Of course, this does not mean that we know the answers to all the big questions of 1848-49. The first question to ask is: what happened in 1848-49? The common answer is that it was a revolution and a fight for freedom. The new issue of Korunk analyses different aspects of this answer.
