Conservation of the Dowry Chest from the Museum ”Upper Silesian Ethnographic Park in Chorzów”

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the conservation process of a dowry chest from the collection of the Museum ”Upper Silesian Ethnographic Park in Chorzów”. The furniture underwent a comprehensive conservation, both woodwork and painting. Conservation of woodwork included the elimination of threats posed by previous conservation works, improvement of its techni¬cal condition and stabilization. As part of the aesthetic conservation, the repainting that the box has undergone over the years was removed and its original appearance was restored.
