Summary/Abstract: The paper is focused on the ephemeral lordship of King Přemysl Otakar II of Bohemia (1253–1278) in the Patriarchate of Aquileia, an ecclesiastical principality in the north-eastern part of the Apennine Peninsula (roughly present-day Friuli). The author analyses subsequently the chronology, development, and context of the relationship between the Přemyslid and the Patriarchate, then examines the extent of Otakar’s possessions, his administration apparatus and political personnel, and finally the communication with the subject territory and local actors.
