Botev -the Search for and the Stronghold

Summary/Abstract: The paper offers an attempt of interpreting the Botev's poems as an expression of a passing modernity observed by the readers in which the lyric heroes are crossing the line of maturing and becoming aware. The processes of the modernization of the personality which lead to personal discomfort and often to a dramatic interpretation of the world are also researched. In the context of this internal drama of the lyric speaker some poetic concepts of Botev as song, cry, forgetfulness, keeping silence and death - are observed. In these observations a parallel between the poetic motives and the real emotional evolution of the personality is achieved.
