APPLYING ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS AND TECHNOLOGIES TO ACCELERATE THE ADAPTATION OF CITIES TO CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE ONGOING URBANIZATION PHENOMENON

Summary/Abstract: Applying nature-friendly solutions is key to adapting cities to climate change, mitigating the ongoing destructive processes and achieving sustainability over time. The main questions that we should consider are related to the expansion of cities, the ways of their adaptation to the rapidly changing environment, as well as the already implemented projects and their future. Adaptation through the application of environmentally friendly solutions and new technologies does not sound like an alternative, but the only way to achieve a longer-term sustainability. All this, of course, would not be possible without a change in the behavioral attitude of society.
