Summary/Abstract: Modern science is a spiritual creation with many roots, among them the religious belief that this world can be seen as one of the forms of divine revelation. Although only at the end of the Middle Ages did such a view become dominant, the Bible also demanded that man see nature and himself as being more than he can know and understand at present. We can consider science also the result of the last demand.
