Summary/Abstract: The spread of diseases that are not investigated in our country is a serious risk because they can infect the lavender fields and cause yield losses. Lavender viruses diseases have been identified in recent years. In favorable climatic conditions (frequent rainfall or heavy irrigation combined with moderate temperatures), fungal diseases become a serious problem in lavender fields: septoria (Septoria lavandulae), phomosis (Phoma lavandulae), phomopsis (Phomopsis lavandulae). In recent years, especially in seedling production, the root rot of lavender caused by Phytophthora sp., Fusarium oxysporum, Armilariella melle and Rosellinia necartix are a serious problem in our country. In the lavender fields, the following multi-species insect pests are found and cause damage: grasshoppers (Tettigonia viridissima, Isophya tenuicerca, Docciostaurus maroccanus, Calliptamus italicus) sparkling cicada (Philaenus spumarius) and Northern nematode (Meloidogyne hapla). Тhe only specialized lavender insect pest in Bulgaria is the lavender moth (Sophronia humerela).
