He renamed the theatre he managed to “Ro-sa Popova” in 1897, when the actress was 18 years old. Only 24 years old, she was appointed a director of the Plovdiv Municipal Theatre. Her talent was amazing. She was compared to Sarah Bernardt. Extremely erudite, she can be considered the first female entrepreneur in Bulgaria. She translated and staged in Bulgaria for the first time plays by European authors of modernism. Popova created schools for training of young actors. Her life was turbulent, stormy, full of passions, loves and hatreds.
