POET, JOURNALIST, AND TRANSLATOR FLORICA ŞTEFAN (1930-2016): DESTINY BETWEEN "TEARS AND RAYS"

Summary/Abstract: The literature of the Romanian national minority created in the period after the end of World War II is a reflection of the social and historical conditions in Serbia. The poetry and prose written in the mid-twentieth century indicate certain problems of crucial importance for this ethnic community, and one of them is undoubtedly the issue of the status of women. In this paper, we will become familiar with the work of one of the most important Serbo-Romanian poets from Vojvodina, Florica Ştefan, and through selected examples of poetry, we will find out why her verses hold an important place in both Serbian and Romanian literature.
