Summary/Abstract: In this text we refer to the dramatic attempt of Anastasia Miloshova of Prilep, remaining in manuscript, the first registered play written by a Macedonian woman in general. It is about the unpublished playlet “Penka and Marika” from the mid 1890s (ca. 1895/96). Through the two main female characters, the children Penka and Marika, through an engaging dramatic dialogue, Miloshova is talking about the needs and meaning of education. The structure of the scene is simple, but it follows the theoretical requirements of the genre, i.e. the dramatic convention, and follows the organization in the basic dramatic parts with plot, climax and denouement. In this way, some blank pages of Macedonian literature are being filled, our literary fund is enriched and opportunities for new interpretations of Macedonian literature and culture from this century are opened. This is especially true for Macedonian women’s creativity, which, in addition to well-known publicistic-journalistic publications, short stories, polemical texts, reports and translations produced by Slavka Dinkova, Evtimica Jancheva (Yancheva), Marija Zrneva, Sultana Chikmakova, Olga Madzarova and several more minor publications of other Macedonian authors, is enriched with a new work from a literary genre that is specific and with a smaller quantity compared to poetry, travelogues, short stories and other genres in the Macedonian 19th century.
