Summary/Abstract: Sermons and homilies play an important role in promoting devotion and love for the Blessed Mother. They can teach and educate to true Marian devotion, in line with the expectations of the Church’s Magisterium. American Redemptorist James A. Wallace points out that in preaching we can show the action of Mary as in preaching about the saints. He proposes to present Mary as: a model (a model of human response on the way to salvation), a mirror, a mentor (teacher, educator, master, spiritual guide) and as a metaphor.
