Summary/Abstract: In the present study, we aim at investigating what some of the Romanian journalists from the past used to write about “marriage”. The period researched by us is, mostly, the interwar one (that is, between the two World Wars from the 20th century). In order to conduct our study, we also read texts which do not belong to the interwar period. We focused mainly to some matters/topics such as: marriage scammers, the ideal (in) marriage, marriage as a business, marriage through matrimonial ads, rules imposed to the woman who wanted the title of “good wife” etc.
