Artistic Participation in Rural Construction in the Perspective of Spatial Production: The Liuyin Project as an Example

Summary/Abstract: In the face of the rising practice of art participation in rural construction in China, the need for academic observation and theoretical interpretation has become increasingly urgent and important. Based on a theoretical perspective of spatial production, this paper uses a combination of participatory observation, social experimentation and creative writing to explore how what is seen as a symbolic action of the avant-garde in the West can be transformed into a real force for social development in the Chinese countryside, using the Liu Yin Project as an example.
