Summary/Abstract: Although it will know a strong but difficult flowering, between the 7th and 18th centuries, Islamic music, since the foundation of the Islamic cult, will not only be neglected, but also condemned (by some Muslim circles). Music will appear gradually (as a sign of revolt against all the canons imposed by the followers of the cult) and will impose itself as an art and as a privilege starting from the 7th century, culminating, as one of the most important places in everyday life, with the end of the 18th century.
