The role of the System of Internal Management Control (SCIM) on the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation in the public system

Summary/Abstract: The paper highlights the managerial premises available to public institutions in Romania at the time of the application of the GDPR in 2018 and during the implementation of this normative act. It is especially useful for data protection officers and managers because the paper clarifies one of the issues of any start of implementation of a new standard in a public institution: how exactly to start implementing the privacy standard in the public institution. It is obvious that putting the issue under the umbrella of the decision, execution and audit structure already adapted to the SCIM standard is the most handy and appropriate solution.
