Summary/Abstract: At one end of Kisseleff avenue, placed in a wonderful park, you will find the house eng. Dumitru Furnică-Minovici built, following a long line of family tradition. It has the architectural characteristics of third-stage Gothic English style, and in 1945 it was donated to the Romanian Academy. The building hosts remarkable objects of fine arts belonging to the 14th-19th centuries: paintings, furniture, sculptures, beautiful window stained glass, as well as a beautiful library with rare editions, all leather bound.The present study mainly deals with the exhibitions organized by the collector during the Communist period: outstanding rare editions of old books, engravings of famous German authors, medals, book ornaments, authentic medieval documents, old musical manuscripts, Venetian incunabula etc.
