Summary/Abstract: The structure of the archival fund of each country, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a crucial and permanently actual issue for the archival profession and science, as well as for society in general. It is not just a matter of nominal and quantitative nature but much more essential and substantial nature. This means that the number and scope of archival founds per se do not give answers to all the other important issues concerning its essential (value) side, as it is sometimes a simplified understood. Because of all this, and many other circumstances, this paper points out the status and structure of archival fond of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which should be relevant to the scientific and cultural research and generally for the memory of Bosnian society as a whole. Based on the analysis of the situation it was pointed out on the azimuth of activities which could be lead to improving the value structure of the archive fund and in which could be found all relevant (in a given circumstances the most important) archival material of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
