Summary/Abstract: The report presents the results of a study of the periodicity of defence reviews (strategic reviews) over the last 30 years concerning the armed forces. The different durations of cycles in the defence planning have been established (by a systematic analysis) which predetermines deviations, delays or shortfalls in the development of the defence capabilities and armed forces. Refinement of the process in the direction of synchronization with the corresponding process in NATO will increase the efficiency and the timely development of interoperable forces.
