Summary/Abstract: The article summarizes the results of a research on the sources on the Internet from which users are most often informed about what is happening around them. The main purpose of the research itself is to determine what is the presence of the official institutions of Bulgaria in the global network, to what extent their information sites are ranked in the leading positions in the results of search engines and the reasons for the obtained results. Some conclusions and proposals are made in relation to the possibility of creating certain attitudes in society through the use of search engines on the Internet for tendentious, manipulative and incomplete presentation of information.
