Summary/Abstract: The works of Dmitry Gromov and Oleg Ladyzhensky using the joint pseudonym Henry Lion Oldie have been known to the general reader for more than three decades. However, despite a considerable amount of research on their works, a number of books fall outside the sphere of interests of literary critics, which explains the importance of studying their dilogy The Golden Bow in the context of the principles of ancient code representation. The methods of comparative historical and mythopoetic analyses allow to identify the specific features of the creative method of the writers who transform the myth of Bellerophon in the traditions of mythological realism. Close attention to mythological details and attributes, the life and customs of Corinth, Argos and Lycia, as well as the system of leitmotifs, modernization and humanization of the gods, establishing non-obvious connections between various plots, and reinterpretation of the image of Bellerophon through the story of his origins allow writers to create a a book interesting for both connoisseurs of ancient mythology and readers seeking to dive into the world of heroic fantasy.
