Summary/Abstract: One of the subfields of economic history refers to prices. This article presents the toilsome means of reconstructing the statistical series required for studying the evolution of grain prices in the Lower Danube ports in the second quarter of the nineteenth century. Recent research has allowed the identification of several sources which support the analysis of the sinusoidal curves of the price of Romanian wheat and corn traded in Moldavia and Wallachia.
