Revitalisation of traditional games for children originating from Cieszyn Silesia

Summary/Abstract: The article is a report on the research conducted to diagnose the state of preservation of chil- dren’s games and traditional games in the memories of the oldest inhabitants of Cieszyn Silesia. Traditional games were examined as an element of the immaterial cultural heritage and, together with the research results, were a basis for reflecting on possible reintroductive actions. Those are aimed at maintaining the knowledge of these games and game-related behaviours, espe- cially among the children, in order to practice games stemming from local cultural traditions in such a way as to teach them about the cultural heritage of the region.
