Summary/Abstract: The article “Friends with Eminescu: Alexandru Chibici Revneanu” outlines the personality of one of Eminescuʼs close friends, whose biography is barely glimpsed. Employed by the Romanian Railways, frequently present at meetings and sessions of the “Junimea” Society in Iași and Bucharest, at the most memorable readings, Chibici, author himself of some “Memories”, is almost unknown as a memoirist in Romanian literary history, which remembers him as Eminescuʼs friend. Chibici gained Eminescuʼs friendship already in the Gymnasium of Chernivtsi, cultivated it in Vienna, and did not deny it even in 1883, accompanying the poet to a sanatorium or on the trip to Italy.
