Women in the Russian political cartoons

Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the role assigned to women in political cartoons, types of exaggeration, labeling of images. We investigate such categories as «ordinary woman», «female symbol», «feminized character», and personified political cartoon. The center piece of the article is the analysis of the representation of women in the political process through the last five years.
