DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ON A LOCAL SCALE

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to try to answer the following research questions: How should the digital transformation of local government be understood? Why all local government units should enter the path of this transformation? What is the impact of digital transformation for the performance of tasks by the local government? The aim of the study is also to assess the level of advancement of the process of digital transformation of local government at the local level, and identification of barriers that hinder this process. The article uses the method of analysis and criticism in literature, which was considered the best from the point of view of the questions posed, and also showed the results of a diagnostic survey carried out by means of an electronic survey containing 25 questions addressed to the secretaries of municipalities of Świętokrzyskie voivodship. The research found insufficient preparation of munici-palities of Świętokrzyskie voivodship for the digital transformation process, as well as the numerous barriers that prevent this process.
