Summary/Abstract: The purpose of my article is to review the known and verified facts of Bruno Schulz’s life in the aspect of his connection with Vienna, and to supplement these facts with some hitherto unknown and unrecorded information complementing or enriching the data already possessed. The search I was able to make in the Viennese archives allowed me to supplement the already known facts with additional detailed information, such as the exact addresses of his places of residence, and to expand the information on Schulz’s circle of acquaintances, his relatives and people from his hometown of Drohobycz. I also focused my attention on the cultural spectrum of Vienna from the period of the writer’s stays in that city, with particular attention to events in such fields of art as painting, theater - with emphasis on Polish accents. I devoted the final part of the article to Schulz’s short story titled: “Homeland” - searching - through the use of semiotic connotations - for points of convergence between facts related to Viennese episodes in his life and the writer’s creative fantasy.
