Summary/Abstract: The article demonstrates the activities of the Red Army in the poviat (county) of Świecie (Pomorskie Voivodeship) in 1945, shedding light on the effects the Soviet army had on the socio-political and economic life of the region. The selected examples are given to pres- ent the nature of crimes committed by the Red Army and their impact on the life of the local community. To summarise this activity, the attitude of the inhabitants of the Świecie poviat towards the Soviets and the emotions they evoked are presented.
