Some Reflections on the Beginnings of Perestroika in the USSR

Summary/Abstract: The considerations presented below are part of the discussion on research and studies of perestroika in the USSR based on the analysis of Alicja Stępień-Kuczyńska’s works. The article attempts to verify the interpretation schemes functioning in the literature on the subject. It also offers some guidelines concerning directions of reflection on the last period of the history of this state by extending the historical source base, including, among other things, Russian archival resources or analysis of political and economic thought.
