Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the legal aspects of conducting currency exchange activities as a natural person engaged in business operations. The issue of registering currency exchange activities in the context of freedom and freedom of economic activity has not been thoroughly examined by legal doctrine, hence it is a source primarily of analyses, comments and conclusions in a multi-dimensional approach, taking into account the provisions of such legal acts as: the Act of 6 March 2018 “Entrepreneurship Law” and the Act of 27 February 2004 “Foreign Exchange Law”. The paper starts by attempting to define the terms “freedom of economic activity” and “economic freedom”, which have different interpretations and can be problematic Following that, the paper delves into the legal nature and characteristics of the CEIDG register and the currency exchange activity register, with a special focus on the issues that arise. The objective of this study is to comprehensively systematize the subject matter. The research method used is based on a thorough analysis of normative material, legal doctrine, and case law. The paper aims to answer the question of whether the formal and institutional scope of both registers is the same.
