Summary/Abstract: The present study aims to reveal a sketch of literary history concerning the reception of the Spanish writer Juan Ramón Jiménez, poet laureate of The Nobel Prize in Literature (1956), in Romania. We engage a diachronic perspective, which includes literary critics and translators who wrote about the Spanish writer's oeuvre, the first translations, and the first Romanian editions of his work, the increasing interest towards his writings, debates regarding certain translations, etc. We, thus, use methodological tools originating in the field of the history of the printing press, our article assuming the inter and post-war newspapers as the primary resource. A possible future challenge awaits those who want to continue the present research and focus on the contemporary period (after 1989).
