Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the collection of children’s poetry Voz do neba (A Train to the Sky) by Bisera Alikadić. The special focus in analysis and interpretation of Alikadić’s poetry is on the role of imagination, the motive of play and the function of humor and laughter. Through the infantile perspective of the poetic subject and articulate voice of the child, as well as represented lived experiences, children’s poetry by Bisera Alikadić uses the connection between imagination, humor and play and the subversive power of words and carnival atmosphere to affect adult norms, rules and conventions which are mediated to children through language.
