Summary/Abstract: The article reflects on the socio-emotional situation of elderly people caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The reflection was made in the light of the literature on the subject and in the light of the results of the own research. The entire text consists of two parts. In the first one, an outline is given of the theoretical context covering the issues of the direction of development changes taking place in late adulthood and a reflection on the changes caused by the pandemic. The second part refers to the pilot empirical data, presents the research method and its results and summary.
