Summary/Abstract: The article aims at re-examining the murder of father Stanisław Streich by Wawrzyniec Nowak on February 27, 1938. By verifying the accounts of witnesses to this event and reading the contemporary news coverage, the authors compared the collected information with the autopsy report by the physician Stanisław Łaguna, in order to confirm the facts regarding the crime. An additional objective was to adopt an interdisciplinary approach that would combine the work of historians and physicians to determine the circumstances of the priest’s death in detail, and to attempt to identify the type of weapon the perpetrator used to commit this crime. At the same time, the authors tried to verify whether it is possible to identify Wawrzyniec Nowak as a member of a communist organization, based on information included in the source materials that are now available.
