Summary/Abstract: Crafts and industry exhibitions have been of profound significance to economic and culturalhistory globally. As they included musical instruments, especially pianos, they had a significantimpact on the development of musical instrument making, creatively stimulating instrumentmakers and giving them the opportunity to compare different products and introduceinnovations. In addition, the exhibitions had an important impact on musical life. The focus ofthe author’s interest is on musical instruments presented at important industry exhibitions heldin Breslau, Silesia (now Wrocław, Poland) in 1852 and 1857.
