Dear Friends – Dearest Friend: The Correspondence of Gabriela Preissová and the Mrštík Brothers

Summary/Abstract: The Literature Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature holds correspondence between Gabriela Preissová (1862–1946) and the brothers Alois (1861–1925) and Vilém Mrštík (1863–1912). This correspondence comprises twelve letters written between 1890 and 1912, discussing important events in the lives of these three writers. Mainly, however, the letters provide unique testimony to the contacts between Preissová and writers who were of her generation, lived near her, and with whom she was also bound by a shared youth as an artist.
